The rapture isnt even mentioned in the bible unless you make soem jumpin interpretations.it wasnt populartized and pushed until scofield and his jew friend george steans as finacier, pushed it to way lay christianikty once againsince christians are so ignorant of their own religion and break its rules without a second thought i.e. usuryeither side of it.the purpose being to get them to think on that topic and forget about the jerws if even they were aware of what they are edoing in the first placewhich i doubt many are except texxe marrs, lol.and as you see the current effects of these rapture believing jew worshipping judeo/xians(a complete misnomer or lie as it doesnt exist)they have succeded in once again hijacking the xian religion, after all the vatican has a open jew in a very high placer and isnt even coy about ity.so thats how far the catholics been subverted at least they dont believe or teach this rapture garbage.

That's right, xtiml. The Catholics don't accept the rapture and there's no mention of "rapture" in the bible but, the evangelicals are all about it. The rapture and Jesus' 2nd coming is what keeps Christianity alive with the evangelicals, which is hugely popular in the US.

Revelation and Jesus' return killing 1/3rd of human population:

Quote:
What is the rapture?

The Rapture is a future event expected by many -- perhaps most -- born-again Protestants. They are certain that they, alone, will engage in a mass migration in the near future. They believe that those born-again Christians who have died will have their bodies reconstituted and will ascend through the air, and meet Jesus Christ in the sky. This will be followed by a second mass migration of the born-again who are currently alive.

The word "Rapture" comes from the Latin word "Rapare" which means to take away or to snatch out. This would be a remarkable event. As it is described in Evangelical literature, pilots would disappear from planes, truck drivers from their trucks; people from automobiles, etc. Some born-again Christians believe that a family will be eating dinner, when some of the members will float upwards from their seats, pass through the roof and keep rising through the air towards Jesus.

An associated event is Christ's imminent return (also known as the "second coming" and "parousia"). This has been expected by many Christians for almost 2 millennia. It was described by the Greek word "parousia" (coming, arrival, presence) during the 1st century CE. Justin Martyr introduced the term "second coming" in the 2nd century.

Ever since Christ's death, many Christians have been expecting the second coming in their immediate future. Most Fundamentalist and other conservative Christians believe that The Rapture will occur when Christ first returns towards earth. Most believe that Christ will not actually land or stay on earth at this time; the "real" second coming will occur later, when he returns on a horse leading an army on horseback who will exterminate one third of the earth's population in a massive, bloody genocide. It will be numerically the largest mass extermination of humans in history. In terms of the percentage of humans to be killed in a genocide, it will be second only to the flood of Noah, which resulted in the deaths of every adult, child, infant and newborn on earth, with the exception of Noah and seven members of his immediate family.

The rapture concept is a relatively new belief. It is essentially ignored by most other Christian faith groups. It does not form a part of any other religion. It is dismissed by essentially all liberal Christian theologians. Many mainline and liberal Bible handbooks, commentaries, dictionaries and encyclopedia do not even list "rapture" in their indices."

Plus, the fact that of the prophecies such as the 6th Trumpet - Revelation 9:13-15 the mass murder of 1/3rd of the worlds population (which will consist of all non-believers; sounds like a new, modern day Inquisition to me). Remember the apocalypse, Armageddon and the tribulation period? Remember how it says that the blood will be at the horses bridle at Revelation 14:20? And that man will become more scarce than gold at Isaiah 13:12? After all is said and done 2/3rds of the human population will be destroyed. The Religious Tolerance website removed the above quote so, I'm just glad I had it saved - ah, added update, they've brought all the above information back to the website after having removed it for several years.

The Seven Seals of Revelation Revelation chapter 6:

* First Seal - Religious Conquest, White horse
* Second Seal - Conflict & War, Red Horse
* Third Seal - Famine & Drought, Black Horse
* Fourth Seal - Death, green or Pale Horse:
* Fifth Seal - Vision of martyrdom or martyrs
* Sixth Seal - Cosmic Disturbances or Heavenly Signs and the marking of the 144,000
* Seventh Seal, Revelation 8:1-6 - Prelude To The 7 Trumpets of 7 Angels & The Final Judgement

There will be "seven trumpets" announcing aspects of the "End Times": mankind being judged, seas turning to blood, sores on people's bodies, plagues, infertility, and the introduction of "seven bowls." These bowls are a third each of the sea, humankind, water, animal life, ships, crops, and earth, all engulfed by an infinite abyss.

Seven seals

Seven trumpets

Seven bowls

Armageddon

End times

Quote:
Will Two Thirds Of Earth’s Population Die?

"Q. Is it true that 2/3 of earth’s human population will die during the Tribulation? Other prophecy teachers have said this many will die, but I cannot find it in the Bible. Could you please tell me if this is an accurate number, and where it can be found in the Bible?

A. Estimates of end times deaths are based on the assumption that 1/4 of the world’s population will die during the seal judgments. This comes from an interpretation of Rev. 6:8 where Death and Hades are given power over 1/4th of the earth to kill by the sword, famine, plague, and wild beasts. If 1/4th of the Earth refers to the population count, that leaves 3/4ths of the population still alive at the end of the Seal Judgments.

Then come the Trumpet judgments. In Rev. 9:15 the four angels of the Euphrates are released to kill 1/3rd of the remaining population. If you know your fractions, you know that 1/3 of 3/4ths is 1/4th. 1/4th (Seals) plus 1/4th (Trumpets) equals 1/2. Therefore between the Seal and Trumpet judgments 1/2 of the population alive at the beginning of Daniel’s 70th Week will have died before the Great Tribulation even begins. We’re not told how many die during the Bowl judgments, but certainly there will be many more.

That said, I think the 2/3rds reference comes from Zechariah 13:8-9 where the Lord says in the whole land 2/3rds will be struck down and perish, and the 1/3 who are left will be brought into the fire. This refers to Israel. The phrase “the fire” is thought to be the refiner’s fire, a name sometimes given to the Great Tribulation. That means 2/3rds of the Jewish people will die sometime before the Great Tribulation begins.

A careful reading of Zechariah 13:8-9 shows that this 2/3rds will perish sometime between the scattering that took place after the crucifixion and the beginning of the Great Tribulation. One interpretation of this has the 6 million Jews killed in the Holocaust representing the 2/3rds. But it’s also possible that this many Jews could die during the Seal and Trumpet judgments of Daniel’s 70th Week.

No matter how you calculate it, the fact remains that Daniel’s 70th Week will be the bloodiest time the people of Earth have ever experienced."

The precise number of the dead in the 'End Times' is not given - perhaps because it's a tally of non-believers so, who really cares, right? Of course, we actually DO care and a guesstimation of 2/3rds killed is probably a good start after all the Trumpets, Seals, Bowls, Armageddon and blood "as high as a horse’s bridle" in Revelation 14:20. Nevertheless, everyone agrees that it will be the "bloodiest time the people of Earth have ever experienced" and for some very, very disturbing reason the Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam) rejoice in this worst calamity in all human history as some sort of victory. I say, they should be utterly ashamed of themselves. Is that really the best they can do? "Sanctity of Life" - my ass.
