I have a question... As I read about the Phoenix, I could not help but think about the dove, which symbolizes the H.S., peace, etc in Xianity. I could not help but think the two are somehow related. Am I on to something with that?

Hi Mriana -

Thanks for reading my book.

There could always be some kind of connection, as the dove is used abundantly enough in pre-Christian mythology, but I don't see that there necessarily has to be any connection, because the phoenix/benu concept stands on its own.

For more on the significance and symbolism of the dove, be sure to check out Barbara Walker's books.

Asked my older son to get me "Man Made God" for Human Light Day. I haver her Women's Dictionary and The Women's Encyclopedia of Myths. I'll have to look it up in those books. Thanks and you're welcome. It's a good book and I think even better than your others. Every book seems to get better and better.
