Has anyone ever seen this before? It's new to me and I just thought it was cool as hell. See, the more you dig, the more you see there is a natural basis at the root of all mythology.

You should read Astrotheology and Shamanism by Jan Irvin and Andrew Rutajit.

Much of 'Astrotheology and Shamanism' cites other works such as Acharya for example. That's a book to read if one is more interested in the religious history of taking drugs for religious rituals. However, they do mention a bit of the above on page 147 but, they cite Symbols, Sex, and the Stars by Ernest Busenbark page 51 from the 1997 edition (original 1949).

That makes sense. The eye of Horus is a strange image. It figures that it would have come from autopsy investigation of the human brain.
